The Auditor General is a statutory officer with responsibility for auditing the Western Australian State and local government. The Auditor General is an independent officer of Parliament and is supported by an Office that is a public sector department. The Auditor General and Office report directly to Parliament, not a government Minister. Three parliamentary committees, the Public Accounts Committee, Estimates and Financial Operations Committee and Joint Standing Committee on Audit, have particular oversight of our operations.
