The Office of the Comptroller General (CGU) is the agency of the Federal Government in charge of assisting the President of the Republic in matters which, within the Executive Branch, are related to defending public assets and enhancing management transparency through internal control activities, public audits, corrective and disciplinary measures, corruption prevention and combat, and coordinating ombudsman's activities. As a central agency, CGU is also in charge of technically supervising all the departments making up the Internal Control System, the Disciplinary System, and the ombudsman's units of the Federal Executive Branch, providing normative guidance as required.
