Van Hool, established in 1947 by Bernard Van Hool and ever since a non-listed family-owned and -run business, is a Belgian manufacturer of buses, coaches and industrial vehicles. Van Hool has around 4,450 staff worldwide, the majority of whom of course work in the production facilities in Koningshooikt (Belgium) and in Skopje (Macedonia). Annual production has reached levels of 1,200 buses and 3,000 trailers. In June 2024 the Dutch VDL Groep acquired parts of the Flemish bus manufacturer Van Hool. The family-owned industrial company headquartered in Eindhoven (NL) acquired Van Hool in Belgium and the production facility in Macedonia. The company officially became VDL Van Hool Macedonia in August 2024.
