The University Campus spread over 263 acres of land is situated in the picturesque setting of glittering snow clad mountains of Harmokh range, the placid waters of Dal Lake and the divine grace of Hazratbal Shrine. The University comprises the Amarsingh Bagh, the Mughal Garden of Chinars and the Mirza Bagh. It is under the shade of Chinars in the University Campus that Moulana Abul Kalam Azad wrote some of his letters during his visit to Kashmir which later found place in his famous Gubar-i-Khatir.
