SpaceX Company CyberSecurity Posture
spacex.comSpaceX designs, manufactures and launches the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk to revolutionize space transportation, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary. SpaceX has gained worldwide attention for a series of historic milestones. It is the only private company ever to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, which it first accomplished in December 2010. The company made history again in May 2012 when its Dragon spacecraft attached to the International Space Station, exchanged cargo payloads, and returned safely to Earth — a technically challenging feat previously accomplished only by governments. Since then Dragon has delivered cargo to and from the space station multiple times, providing regular cargo resupply missions for NASA. For more information, visit www.spacex.com.

Description: Following Elon Musk's controversial post, which was interpreted as a potential threat against the US President and Vice President, there is an increased risk of political violence that may prompt federal investigation. Though not an attack in the conventional cybersecurity sense, Musk's statements could lead to a tarnished reputation and strained government relations, particularly given SpaceX's defense contracts. The implications may include increased scrutiny, adverse public perception, and potential impacts on SpaceX's ongoing and future government contracts.
Description: A Russian cosmonaut has been removed from an upcoming SpaceX mission to the International Space Station after reportedly mishandling sensitive technical materials during training in the United States. The investigative outlet The Insider reported that Oleg Artemyev, a veteran cosmonaut, allegedly photographed and removed restricted documents at SpaceX’s training facility in Hawthorne, California. Space industry analyst Georgy Trishkin told The Insider that an interagency investigation was launched in response to the incident. A popular space industry Telegram channel, Yura Prosti, separately claimed that Artemyev had been taken off the mission last week after photographing SpaceX engines and other materials controlled under U.S. export laws. “It’s hard to imagine an experienced cosmonaut making such a serious mistake unintentionally,” Trishkin told The Insider.
Description: Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, made a questionable social media post that was interpreted as potentially inciting political violence, possibly seen as a threat towards the US President and Vice President. Although he later clarified it was an attempt at humor, the tweet may attract federal law enforcement attention due to the severity of its implications. SpaceX, with its intensive dealings and contracts with the US Department of Defense and NASA, risks not only reputational damage but also heightened scrutiny and possible sanctions. This controversy could undermine public and governmental trust, potentially impacting the company's lucrative defense contracts and its role in critical national security operations.

WeGIA is an open source Web Manager for Institutions with a focus on Portuguese language users. Versions 3.5.4 and below contain a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the /WeGIA/html/geral/configurar_senhas.php endpoint. The application does not sanitize user-controlled data before rendering it inside the employee selection dropdown. The application retrieves employee names from the database and injects them directly into HTML <option> elements without proper escaping. This issue is fixed in version 3.5.5.
ZITADEL is an open-source identity infrastructure tool. Versions 4.0.0-rc.1 through 4.7.0 are vulnerable to DOM-Based XSS through the Zitadel V2 logout endpoint. The /logout endpoint insecurely routes to a value that is supplied in the post_logout_redirect GET parameter. As a result, unauthenticated remote attacker can execute malicious JS code on Zitadel users’ browsers. To carry out an attack, multiple user sessions need to be active in the same browser, however, account takeover is mitigated when using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or Passwordless authentication. This issue is fixed in version 4.7.1.
ZITADEL is an open-source identity infrastructure tool. Versions 4.7.0 and below are vulnerable to an unauthenticated, full-read SSRF vulnerability. The ZITADEL Login UI (V2) treats the x-zitadel-forward-host header as a trusted fallback for all deployments, including self-hosted instances. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to force the server to make HTTP requests to arbitrary domains, such as internal addresses, and read the responses, enabling data exfiltration and bypassing network-segmentation controls. This issue is fixed in version 4.7.1.
NiceGUI is a Python-based UI framework. Versions 3.3.1 and below are vulnerable to directory traversal through the App.add_media_files() function, which allows a remote attacker to read arbitrary files on the server filesystem. This issue is fixed in version 3.4.0.
FreePBX Endpoint Manager is a module for managing telephony endpoints in FreePBX systems. Versions are vulnerable to authentication bypass when the authentication type is set to "webserver." When providing an Authorization header with an arbitrary value, a session is associated with the target user regardless of valid credentials. This issue is fixed in versions 16.0.44 and 17.0.23.
