The quarterly publishes scholarly articles in the field of Persian (Iranian) studies, politics, culture, society and beyond. It takes contributions from its readers and followers who largely constitute the elite of the Iranian diaspora world-wide. Its readers are well educated, well informed citizens, business owners, scholars, intellectuals, professors, politicians and philanthropists. Rahavrad is entire supported by its very few advertisers. Since the death of Hassan Shahbaz in May of 2006, Rahavard has been published by his widow Sholeh Shams shahbaz. Today, she has grown the publication both in volume, subscription and influence. Ms. Shams is currently writing a book entitled Farewell to Dignitaries, which pays tribute to intellectual and political leaders who have died since the Iranian Revolution of 1979. After her husband's death, she published his last, 300-page work entitled Sporadic Conversations. Today, Shams has assigned Maryam Shargh-Zar as the English language editor for Rahavard, with the objective to bring a younger generation of Iranian global readers into the Rahavard fray. Among its immediate plans are a facebook page, a twitter handle, and a growing roster of writers and contributors who can make the English section relevant, appealing and ultimately, influential.
