The Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Program (CMEP) is a research and education program within the Dept. Marine Science at California State University, Monterey Bay. Through funding provided by the National Science Foundation and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, CMEP supports basic research to increase our understanding of coastal and marine ecosystems from coastal wetlands to the open ocean and deep sea. Modern technological and social science approaches employed in CMEP research also help inform conservation and management of coastal and marine resources at regional and national levels.
