The suit, led by plaintiff Jason Perry a Las Vegas client claims the firm notified affected individuals on July 10 that hackers may have accessed their sensitive information. The complaint accuses WilmerHale of recklessly neglecting security measures, leaving client data vulnerable to identity fraud. Similar lawsuits have targeted other major firms in the past year, including Blank Rome, Wiley Rein, Fried Frank, and Pillsbury Winthrop, reflecting growing scrutiny over law firms’ handling of confidential data. WilmerHale acknowledged the breach in a statement, describing it as an "isolated" incident that was "quickly contained." The firm stated that the hacker did not directly infiltrate its systems or network and that there is no evidence of misuse or public disclosure of client information.
