We are an Off-Broadway theatre company dedicated to nurturing the voices of daring artists, and to developing and producing work that pushes the boundaries of what theatre can be and do. Other notable premieres include Becky Mode’s FULLY COMMITTED (which ran for two years Off-Broadway and has had more than 100 productions around the world); Colman Domingo’s DOT, Jenny Schwartz’s GOD’S EAR, Craig Lucas’ THE DYING GAUL, Nicky Silver’s PTERODACTYLS, Anne Washburn’s THE INTERNATIONALIST, Julia Cho’s THE PIANO TEACHER, Christopher Shinn’s WHERE DO WE LIVE, Will Eno’s MIDDLETOWN, Tarell Alvin McCraney’s WIG OUT!, Michael Mayer and Peter Lerman’s BROOKLYNITE, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Pulitzer finalist play GLORIA, and many more. Vineyard productions have gone on to be seen around the country and the world. Our commitment to innovative work has earned The Vineyard, our artists and productions two Pulitzer Prizes, five Tony Awards, 23 Obie Awards, two Oppenheimer Awards, and numerous New York Drama Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Drama Desk awards. The Vineyard is proud to have been honored with a special Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Body of Work, a Drama Desk Award for Artistic Excellence, and the first-ever Ross Wetzsteon Obie Award for support of artists and creativity in the theatre.
