Tuttle Publishing Company CyberSecurity Posture
tuttlepublishing.comMISSION: The Tuttle Publishing company was founded in 1832 in the small New England town of Rutland, Vermont [USA] — making it one of the oldest American publishers in operation today. Our core values remain as strong today as they were then—to publish best-in-class books which bring people together one page at a time. Since 1948, when the company established a publishing outpost in Japan, Tuttle has become a leader in producing English-language books about the arts, languages and cultures of Asia. The world has now become a much smaller place, while Asia’s economic and cultural influence has grown tremendously. Yet the need for meaningful dialogue and information about this diverse region has never been greater.

ThingsBoard in versions prior to v4.2.1 allows an authenticated user to upload malicious SVG images via the "Image Gallery", leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered when any user accesses the public API endpoint of the malicious SVG images, or if the malicious images are embedded in an `iframe` element, during a widget creation, deployed to any page of the platform (e.g., dashboards), and accessed during normal operations. The vulnerability resides in the `ImageController`, which fails to restrict the execution of JavaScript code when an image is loaded by the user's browser. This vulnerability can lead to the execution of malicious code in the context of other users' sessions, potentially compromising their accounts and allowing unauthorized actions.
