Bessemer’s lawsuit centers on allegations that TruStage’s security practices did not match its contractual promises. The complaint cites the company’s privacy policy, which pledges "physical, technological, and administrative safeguards" to protect data, and a separate "2025 security practices" document that claimed regular data backups and annual recovery testing. Bessemer argues these representations were inaccurate, leading to operational disruptions, including stalled claims for auto-loan gap coverage and payment-protection products.
