The breach, which was discovered on October 20, 2022, involved unauthorized access to SWFD's computer network via ransomware on May 30, 2022, affecting a total of 25,351 individuals, including 11 Maine residents. Personal information, including Social Security numbers, may have been compromised, and SWFD has offered identity theft protection services for 12 months to those affected.
