Sixt Rent-a-Car, LLC experienced a data breach after an unauthorized party gained access to sensitive consumer data contained on the network. The breach compromised: names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, state identification card numbers, passport numbers (or other government-issued identification numbers), financial account numbers used for direct deposit, health insurance numbers, health information, and dates of birth of employees, their dependents, and possibly customers. Sixt SE detected “irregularities” within its network, investigated the incident, and notified the impacted individuals.
