(NTIC), a Minnesota-based specialty chemicals company, recently disclosed a data breach linked to a ransomware attack on its network. The incident occurred between February 13 and 18, 2026, when an unauthorized actor accessed and exfiltrated files from NTIC’s systems. On February 26, 2026, the ransomware group Chaos claimed responsibility, asserting it had stolen 400 GB of data. NTIC later confirmed on June 5, 2026, that the breach exposed sensitive personal information, including full names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers of affected individuals. The company did not disclose the total number of people impacted. NTIC began notifying affected individuals on June 26, 2026, and posted a public notice detailing the incident. As part of its response, the company is offering complimentary credit monitoring services to those whose Social Security numbers were compromised. A dedicated call center (844-959-7132) was also established to assist affected parties.
