Nipissing First Nation (NFN) became a victim of a ransomware attack. The administration discovered the attack on May 8. The attack resulted in the administration server being locked, affecting every department, and communication disruptions were still being worked on. NFN staff had to immediately shut down all servers and also discontinued remote access. No payments were made as a result of the attack.
