Across the National Institutes of Health (NIH), there is increasing focus on the health of American Indians and Alaska Natives and a growing portfolio of Tribal health research. The NIH Tribal Health Research Office (THRO) was established in 2015 to ensure meaningful input from and collaboration with Tribal Nations on NIH policies, programs, and priorities.
