Neoclinical became aware of a data breach which affected medical histories and other private information of 10000 of Australians. It was found that the breach included approximately 37,000 people's contact information and their responses to personal medical questions qualifying them for clinical trials. According to US cyber security there were 12,388 individuals from NSW and 4916 from Victoria in the exposed database and the rest were from New Zealand or other Australian states and territories. Neoclinical admitted to the breach but said the disclosure of it was an exercise by a cyber security company demonstrating their expertise for marketing purposes.
