A ransomware attack that targeted NCR is impairing certain eateries' functionality. The company's Aloha point-of-sale (POS) system for restaurants and Counterpoint retail management system were both affected by the April 2023 event, which resulted in a single data center outage. Customer systems or networks are also involved. None of its ATM, digital banking, payments, or other retail products are processed at this data center. NCR is working simultaneously to improve its cyber security defenses, set up alternate functionality for clients, and fully restore any affected data and applications.
