Morgan County Schools became a victim of massive ransomware attack that struck businesses and agencies nationally and around the globe. This only affected a few of their workplace computers. A few specific machines were infected, and the attack locked some files. The hacker organisation demands payment from the school administration in order to disclose the files. A Russian-based hacker group initially demanded $70 million to stop the cyberattack.
