Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center suffered a data breach incident at the end of June 2022 that affected more than 90,000 individuals. A third-party data security incident resulted in unauthorized access to the sensitive personal information of some patients. the exposed information included the protected health information and personally identifiable information of 92,361 individuals. The eye care centre informed all those impacted via postal mail.
