Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital suffered after a data breach a data security incident that disrupted the hospital’s computer network. The breach compromised the following patient data: names, contact information, demographic information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, diagnosis and treatment information, prescription information, Medical Record Numbers, provider names, dates of service, and health insurance information of about 23,379 patients. Apparently, the data security incident had impacted the functionality of its IT network and disrupted its normal operations after which the hospital secured its systems, and notified law enforcement.
