It remains unclear if the two attacks are linked. The dairy sector in Russia has faced multiple cyber disruptions in recent years. In June 2024, an attack on the electronic veterinary certification system forced producers to revert to paper documentation, causing logistical delays. In December 2024, the Semyonishna dairy plant in Siberia was hit by LockBit ransomware, while Kabosh, a major cheese producer, suffered a month-long production halt in September 2024 due to ransomware.
