The Louisville Regional Airport Authority is an independent public agency governed by an eleven member Board of Directors composed of leading public officials and private citizens. The Authority is primarily responsible for: • planning, constructing, and operating its airports (currently Louisville International Airport and Bowman Field) in a timely and cost effective manner; • enhancing the quality and quantity of air service to Kentucky and southern Indiana; • cooperating with other agencies in economic development initiatives; and • maintaining a close liaison with the surrounding community so as to be sensitive and responsive to the impact of airport operations on airport neighbors.
