The incident was first detected on August 23, 2025, when the company identified unauthorized activity on its network. Following an investigation, Extant Aerospace determined that an unauthorized actor accessed systems containing sensitive information. On April 13, 2026, the company confirmed that the breach impacted 3,012 individuals in the U.S., including five in Maine. Exposed data included names, addresses, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers. Affected individuals were notified via written notices on May 13, 2026. The law firm Shamis & Gentile P.A. is investigating potential legal claims on behalf of those affected, citing possible violations of data protection laws.
