Liaison with the U.S. Congress, U.S. government agencies, international organizations, NGOs and think tanks on political, security, trade, economic and cooperation matters, and advancing Costa Rica’s main interests in those fields; pursuing and representing Costa Rica’s trade interests in the United States; actively participating in the negotiations, congressional approval efforts and implementation of CAFTA in close coordination with U.S. agencies, international donors, the private sector and the Central American and Dominican Republic embassies; reporting to and advising the Government of Costa Rica on U.S trade and agriculture policies and legislation; and advising the public on business and investment opportunities in Costa Rica.
