The Maine Office of the Attorney General reported a data breach by The City of Lakewood on December 20, 2022. Unauthorized access to certain systems occurred between November 14, 2022, and December 20, 2022. Approximately two Maine residents were affected, and sensitive information including names, driver's license numbers, and Social Security numbers could have been compromised. Lakewood notified the affected individuals on October 10, 2023, and is offering 12 months of complimentary identity theft protection services through IDX.
