Hunter Associates Reports Data Breach Exposing Client Financial Information Hunter Associates, an independent wealth management firm based in Pittsburgh, disclosed a data breach that compromised sensitive personal and financial information of its clients. The incident was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, with affected individuals notified on June 15, 2026. The breach occurred on April 22, 2026, but was not detected until May 29, 2026 over five weeks later. Exposed data included Social Security numbers and financial account details. In response, Hunter Associates is providing free identity protection services through IDX, with enrollment available until September 15, 2026, via a unique code sent to affected clients. Support is accessible via phone, email, and mail, with a dedicated Incident Response Team established to address concerns.
