Beech Acres Parenting Center experienced an email breach where an unauthorized individual viewed private client information. The firm found an unauthorized person gained access to some employee email accounts. That information includes clients’ names, dates of birth and client account numbers. Treatment or clinical information such as dates of service and provider names were also in the emails. Beech Acres also advises impacted clients to carefully read any statements they get from their health insurance and medical practitioners. Customers should get in touch with the insurance or provider right away if they see costs for services they did not obtain.

On January 15, 2021, the Maine Office of the Attorney General reported a data breach incident involving Beech Acres Parenting Center, linked to a ransomware attack on Blackbaud, Inc. The breach occurred between February 7, 2020, and May 20, 2020, affecting 818 individuals, including personal data from 2 identified Maine residents, specifically their names and financial account numbers.
