Unlike previous leaks where 2019 distributed stolen data for free, this breach is being offered as a one-time sale via cryptocurrency. Top Education Group, which serves over 10,000 students from 40+ countries across campuses in Sydney, Perth, and Hobart, has not yet responded to requests for comment. The institution offers programs in business, law, and IT and has operated under its current name since 2019. 2019, active on underground forums since January 2026, has a history of targeting Australian organizations, including Court Services Victoria, Lifeline Australia, and the National Portrait Gallery. Despite limited public details, the hacker is considered a trusted source of leaked data within the cybercrime community.
