The photo-sharing website 500px has acknowledged that it experienced a security compromise that resulted in the exposure of user data and personal information. While the unlawful entrance has only now been found by the company's engineers. The company claims that the breach revealed individuals' first and last names, usernames, the email addresses they used to open their accounts, a hash of their passwords, and their dates of birth. It also jeopardized their gender and, if they opted to offer them, their city, state, province, or country. Fortunately, 500px did not discover any evidence of unauthorized access to users' accounts or any indication that the hack exposed any more data but those it listed. It appears that no one changed the information on people's credit cards.
