Wintergreen Music
DESTINATION, COMMUNITY, ARTISTRY. Since 1995, Wintergreen Music’s musical programming has attracted world-renowned musicians to Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. During the month of July, Wintergreen Music hosts the Wintergreen Music Festival, featuring approximately 100 events with over 8,000 attendees. The Festival includes full-orchestral weekend masterworks concerts, Friday night pops concerts featuring jazz/big band, bluegrass, Motown, swing, and singer-songwriter performances, weeknight chamber concerts, free weekday seminars, and new and unique special events each year. In 2022, Wintergreen Music launched the LEAD Cooperative – an innovative, cross-disciplinary chamber music curriculum crafted from Wintergreen Music's rich history of supportive music education with much-needed training for today's musicians. The LEAD Cooperative includes programs in in instrumental studies, voice, composition, collaborative piano, conducting, and arts administration, all which are designed to educate the next generation of musicians. July 2025 will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Wintergreen Music and its defining pillars of Destination, Community, and Artistry by highlighting the Blue Ridge Mountain setting, strengthening partnerships with local organizations, non-profits, and music educators, and promoting living American composers with recent and world premiere compositions. MISSION: Wintergreen Music inspires, educates, and welcomes audiences, students, and professional musicians alike through the transformative power of music.
