Twin Cities Women's Choir

3901 Chicago Ave S, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55407, US
Last Update: 2025-12-09

Twin Cities Women's Choir, founded by 14 women in 1997, has grown to more than 150 voices. Since its inception, Twin Cities Women's Choir has welcomed women from all walks of life into its community, celebrating a diversity of ages, abilities, incomes, ethnic origin, sexual orientations and religious backgrounds. We perform music from many cultures and traditions, seeking pieces that provide musical challenges and meaningful texts. ENCORE!, an auditioned, 24 member a cappella ensemble of Twin Cities Women's Choir, was created in 2006. This smaller group is able to bring their gift of song to the larger community by performing at venues or events too small for the entire choir. Twin Cities Girls’ Choir formed in 2014 with a mission to build confident, disciplined, responsible, and compassionate young women into exceptional music-makers capable of participating in a collaborative experience that creates a sisterhood of singers. Her Voice Productions was created in 2014 with a unified mission, vision, and core values with one Executive Director. Each choir has a separate Artistic Director. Her Voice Productions has commissioned over 35 compositions and arrangements for women’s voices and sponsors a composition contest for emerging female composers. We’ve performed concert collaborations with 17 different performing groups including Ann Reed, Brianna Lane, Bruce Henry Band, Monroe Crossing, Brass Messengers, and Saakumu Music and Dance Troupe from Ghana. Our concert season is September through May. It includes 3 Twin Cities Women's Choir concerts, 3 Twin Cities Girls’ Choir concerts, and a variety of community outreach activities. Community outreach activities have included joint concerts with Roosevelt and Washburn High School choirs and ComMUSICation, Ann Bancroft Foundation Awards, Ann Reed’s Heroes Event, Girls On The Run, and National Anthem performances at Gopher Women’s Basketball, Minnesota Lynx, Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Twins, and Minnesota United FC. In addition to performing with TCWC, ENCORE! has performed around the Twin Cities at community events, fundraisers, and high profile performances.
