The Marjorie Luke Theatre’s primary goal is to provide a quality, affordable, accessible and youth-friendly performing arts venue for young people and the entire community to utilize. Located on the historic campus of Santa Barbara Junior High School, the 808-seat Luke Theatre is home to over 218 area arts and educational organizations and welcomes over 36,000 audience members annually. Our historic landmark and award-winning facility is the result of a $4 million renovation completed in 2003. The Luke Theatre was created through a highly unique partnership between the SB Unified School District and the non-profit organization called the SB Community Youth Performing Arts Center, Inc. (CYPAC). This agreement allows CYPAC to manage and operate The Luke Theatre and serve both SBJHS staff, faculty and students for their school needs in the theatre, while also serving the community at large. The Luke Theatre wins the hearts of audiences who are in awe of its architectural beauty and warmth, and has garnered multiple awards for its Spanish Colonial Revival artistic and architectural design and construction. It is the perfect place to enjoy lively arts, special events or business gatherings. The Luke's full-service, technically advanced theatre and professional staff are ready to assist your group with music, dance, theatre, film or special events. The Marjorie Luke Theatre truly is where dreams take stage!
