The Dock is a multi-disciplinary arts centre which presents a year-round programme of exhibitions, performances, commissions, events, and educational opportunities in visual arts, music, theatre, dance, literature, cultural cinema and a range of community-driven activities for adults, families, young people and diverse communities. The Dock also provides support for artists to develop their practice and where possible it curates, commissions and develops new work and supports the work of artists at a local, national and international level. Built in 1828, as a Courthouse, The Dock is a significant heritage building in Co. Leitrim, which was restored in 2005 as an award-winning arts centre. It has three elegant galleries, a 118-seat performance space, four community meeting spaces, and two artists’ studios and is now a key element of the fabric of the arts and broader community of Carrick on Shannon and the northwest region.
