The Brooklyn Quarterly is a digital magazine of literature and public ideas. Featuring fiction, essays, interviews, and poetry, we aim to cultivate accessible discourse and an open community of writers, readers, and citizens. We ourselves are writers, professionals, activists, entrepreneurs, and scholars who believe in the power of narrative and the critical importance of public intellectuals rather than an exclusive intelligentsia. The Brooklyn Quarterly is: -- a forum both for established authors as well as the next generation of great American writers, journalists, and critics; -- a haven for creative writing that actively engages current social issues and public debates; -- an incubator for a reimagination of America’s political and cultural possibilities and a new narrative for progressive thought; and -- a multi-format platform spanning both print and new media, from letterpress editions to tablet- and mobile-friendly editions, along with readings and other events. Flavorwire recently called TBQ “one of the best literary magazines out there,” and we have had pieces featured in Salon, Mashable, and The Huffington Post — and we've also been named to Longform‘s “Best of WordPress.” The magazine can be found at www.brooklynquarterly.org, and you can follow us on Twitter (@BklynQly) and Facebook (facebook.com/BklynQly). TBQ is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Brooklyn, New York.

Description

ThingsBoard in versions prior to v4.2.1 allows an authenticated user to upload malicious SVG images via the "Image Gallery", leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered when any user accesses the public API endpoint of the malicious SVG images, or if the malicious images are embedded in an `iframe` element, during a widget creation, deployed to any page of the platform (e.g., dashboards), and accessed during normal operations. The vulnerability resides in the `ImageController`, which fails to restrict the execution of JavaScript code when an image is loaded by the user's browser. This vulnerability can lead to the execution of malicious code in the context of other users' sessions, potentially compromising their accounts and allowing unauthorized actions.
