
The Kogan Academy of Dramatic Arts
Established in 1991 The Academy, formerly known as The School of the Science of Acting, was founded by Sam Kogan (1946-2004). Sam trained at GITIS in Moscow, now known as The Russian University of Theatre Arts, under the tutelage of Maria Knebel who was a student and later colleague, of Stanislavski's at the Moscow Arts Theatre. Kogan established and developed the stand-alone acting technique 'The Science of Acting', which is now also a book published by Routledge. Significant students include - Eddie Marsan, Richard Brake, David Bark-Jones, Sara Marie Maltha, Philip Bulcock and Audrey Sheffield.
