The Multicultural AIDS Coalition mission is to mobilize communities of color to end the HIV epidemic. MAC supports broader efforts to eradicate conditions that fuel the epidemic, including substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections, lack of healthcare access, homelessness, incarceration, and discrimination based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity. MAC is a public health focused community organization that offers access to healthcare, supports community mobilization, and fosters intersectional collaboration. Programmatic work includes: - navigation for vulnerable populations to: HIV/STI/HCV screening, treatment, and biomedical prevention - enrollment in primary health care and substance misuse services and connection to a wide range of essential supports - access to overdose prevention education, Narcan, needle exchange, and entry to substance use care - linkage to immigration related resources - provision of technical assistance and capacity building assistance to healthcare providers, community health workers, and others at medical and academic institutions, as well as community-based and faith-based organizations - leading and collaborating with academic and research institutions on public health research - providing fiscal sponsorship and management services to community-based nonprofits
