Student Leadership North
Student Leadership Johns Creek is a program for emerging leaders in their sophomore and junior years. Students apply beginning December 1st of their freshman or sophomore years for the two year program. Applicants are accepted from Centennial, Chattahoochee, Innovation Academy, Johns Creek and Northview High Schools. In 2022 we have also added Mt. Pisgah and Providence Christian Schools. The program is run by an advisory council under the board directorship of Leadership Johns Creek, a 501c3 non-profit in collaboration with Fulton County Schools. In year one of this two year leadership program, leadership skills will be developed through a series of structured learning experiences and then utilized in community service projects within Johns Creek. In the second year, students will have a more individualized focus, implementing the skills learned in year one to find leadership opportunities after high school and college. A class of approximately 45 young adults will be selected from area high schools and will be introduced to a core curriculum of leadership skills including goal setting, project management, team building, governmental process and communication skills. 9 of our student leaders are chosen each year to become members of the Secretary of State Ambassadors Program. These students compete with groups from around the state in voter registration and voter awareness programs.
