The mission of the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation is to create and sustain a vibrant performing arts center, advance education, and enrich communities by inspiring minds through the power of the arts. Previously known as the Van Wezel Foundation, the Performing Arts Foundation has partnered with the City of Sarasota since 1987 to advance arts education opportunities for our community. Through this collaboration and the generosity of donors, the Foundation has provided grants of more than $17 million to ensure arts education training for more than 500 teachers and arts education programming to more than 40,000 students and at-risk youth across five counties each year.
