Sawnee School of the Arts
Established as Sawnee School of Ballet in 1990 under the direction of Joan Kall Stewart, Sawnee School of the Arts is recognized in the Forsyth County community for its standard of excellence. SSA, now under the ownership of Courtney Bromwich, is dedicated to providing the highest quality training in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our curriculum includes classes for students, pre-school through professional, in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, musical theatre, and tumbling. Classes are taught by an outstanding faculty of experienced professional instructors and create well-rounded individuals with poise, confidence, discipline, and of course physical strength and endurance. We provide the education and skills needed to create a firm foundation for a performing arts career. We are serious about dance, but we also know how to have fun as we instill skill and talent. Whether your child is studying strictly for pleasure, or as a serious student with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, Sawnee School of the Arts offers classes that suit the interests of all dancers. Students from have received scholarships to Ballet Magnificat, Belhaven University, the Joffrey School of Ballet, Kennesaw State University, and Brenau University. They have been accepted in prestigious Summer intensive Programs such as The Rock, North Carolina School of Arts, Alonzo King Lines, and the American Ballet Theatre, and many have gone on to pursue professional careers in dance.
