Providence Children's Museum
Providence Children's Museum is Rhode Island's only hands-on museum for children and their grown-ups. The Museum's mission is to inspire lifelong learning for all through play, creativity, and exploration. The Museum serves the children of southern New England and the adults who care for them by: • Presenting hands-on exhibits and programs that explore the arts, culture, history and science. • Creating exhibits and programs based on the developmental needs of children ages 1 to 11. • Learning from our visitors as they learn from us. • Creating environments in which people share with one another. • Embracing a wide range of abilities, learning styles and forms of creative expression. • Being accessible and responsive to all families - culturally, physically and economically. • Working in partnership with schools and other organizations to meet the needs of children and families. • Increasing awareness and knowledge of the ways in which children and families learn. Providence Children's Museum, founded in 1977, is a private non-profit educational organization. The Museum provides equal opportunities in its policies, programs and employment practices.
