Noun Project launched in 2011 to build a global visual language that unites the world - a language that allows quick and easy communication no matter who you are or where you are. Since then, our community of creators has built the most diverse and extensive collection of visual language in the world, used by nearly 10 million people. In 2016, the team behind Noun Project launched Lingo, a modern digital asset manager used by some of the world’s best-known brands including Target, Headspace, LinkedIn and Salesforce. We believe that visual language has the power to shape, reinforce, and change perceptions. Through initiatives like Iconathons, community design workshops, and the Redefining Women collection, we have been building the most extensive and diverse collection of icons ever created. To further support our vision, in 2020 we launched Noun Project Photos — a mission-driven, art-quality collection of photos celebrating diversity and representing a more inclusive world. Noun Project and Lingo are led by co-founders Sofya Polyakov and Edward Boatman. Based in Los Angeles, California, Noun Project has been recognized as one of the top 100 places to work in the city.

Description

ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-9 and 6.9.13-34, there is a vulnerability in ImageMagick’s Magick++ layer that manifests when Options::fontFamily is invoked with an empty string. Clearing a font family calls RelinquishMagickMemory on _drawInfo->font, freeing the font string but leaving _drawInfo->font pointing to freed memory while _drawInfo->family is set to that (now-invalid) pointer. Any later cleanup or reuse of _drawInfo->font re-frees or dereferences dangling memory. DestroyDrawInfo and other setters (Options::font, Image::font) assume _drawInfo->font remains valid, so destruction or subsequent updates trigger crashes or heap corruption. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.1.2-9 and 6.9.13-34.
