Nalla-Africa
Nalla-Africa is a non-profit project striving to empower African women in leadership roles, through specialized studies and creation of projects in the IT industry so that they can contribute and become innovative globally. Currently, we are working on laying the groundwork in Kenya in various rural schools. We are aiming to reach up to 500+ students, to develop their digital literacy through computer provision, and adapted tutorials. Eventually, our goal is to stretch to other African countries. Nalla-Africa tackles a complex issue, considering youth unemployment continues to be a key challenge in Kenya, especially among women and rural youth. IT is an emerging growth sector with potential to create jobs, and it is imperative that youth be prepared, with necessary skills for the future digital opportunities.
