LCH Charity - Lifting Children’s Hopes
Lifting Children’s Hope (LCH Charity) helps and supports disadvantaged children and young people by providing mental health support, short breaks, school uniform, life skills, financial support, access to enriching experiences and essential items – like toiletries, coats and gloves, and equipment - to children across the East Midlands affected by poverty, bereavement or difficult home lives. Sadly, nine children in every UK classroom are living in poverty, as are 44% of children living in one-parent families. Many can’t afford basics, such as toothbrushes, sanitary products or coats in winter. Through our partnerships with schools across the region, we provide seven programmes: - Rested Minds – Funding the use of creative therapies to support the mental health of young people. - Bridging the Gap – Providing essential items that young people need, from basic hygiene products and toiletries, to gloves and coats in the winter. - School Uniform – Providing pre-loved and new school uniforms to the children that need it most. - School Adventures – Financial support for families struggling to meet the cost of school trips. - Time Away – Organising short breaks away for children of all ages experiencing hardship to try new experiences in new places. - Broadening Horizons – Providing opportunities to access to hobbies, activities and sport all year round. - Family Matters – Giving families experiences at festivals, theatres, the cinema and more to help build family bonds.
