The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) is an independent national charity which exists to campaign for justice in immigration, nationality and refugee law and policy. We believe people have always moved and always will - and all our lives are better because of it. Since we were founded in 1967, we have supported many thousands of individuals and families who have been affected by the unfairness of British immigration law. JCWI has a team of lawyers supporting people to secure their immigration status and rights in the UK, as well as a campaigns and communications team working to get fairer immigration rules. We aim to change the media narrative around people who move, as well as working closely with politicians to secure changes to cruel and discriminatory immigration policies. Find out more about our work, campaigns and training programme at www.jcwi.org.uk

Description

ThingsBoard in versions prior to v4.2.1 allows an authenticated user to upload malicious SVG images via the "Image Gallery", leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered when any user accesses the public API endpoint of the malicious SVG images, or if the malicious images are embedded in an `iframe` element, during a widget creation, deployed to any page of the platform (e.g., dashboards), and accessed during normal operations. The vulnerability resides in the `ImageController`, which fails to restrict the execution of JavaScript code when an image is loaded by the user's browser. This vulnerability can lead to the execution of malicious code in the context of other users' sessions, potentially compromising their accounts and allowing unauthorized actions.
