ABOUT THE FESTIVAL Now preparing for its fourteenth season on the Big Island, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival brings together some of the most talented young musicians from Hawaii, the U.S., Canada, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, South America and Europe to Hawaii Island between late June and early August to study, grow and perform with professional musical performer/teachers. The results are astonishing. During the 2018 Festival weeks — June 26 through July 24 — more than 20 concerts and stage performances will be presented, giving the students invaluable experience and the privilege of appearing on stage with some of the top musical artists in their field. Performances are held around the Big Island and on Oahu. In the months between Festivals, HPAF offers performances ranging from An Evening at the Stork Club held at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel to intimate house concerts featuring favorite artists. MISSION STATEMENT HPAF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the appreciation and advancement of classical music and musical theater, to offer a world-class music training and performance program in the inspirational setting of Hawaii, and to improve the education and elevate the spirit of all who participate, especially the local community.

Circumference is an award-winning multi-disciplinary production company addressing social and environmental justice. “At a time when circus is striving w/ every sinew to reinvent itself... Circumference comprises a number of core & collaborating artists across disciplines including Theatre, Opera, Circus, Installation, Music & Writing. Cited as “the most exciting thing to happen to Circus-Theatre in the Last Decade” (Circus Diaries), our work tackles socio-political narratives, taking innovative approaches to staging, equipment design & audience inclusion. These interactive experiences offer audience members integral roles in the work, empowering them to be active in the world beyond. Our sell-out debut show, “Shelter me” playing in central London in 2015. In 2017 we premiered “Learning to Listen” in New York & were commissioned to create “Staged” for Glastonbury 2017, Jacksons Lane & Roundhouse Circus Fest. “Staged” played at Edinburgh Fringe 2019 garnering 5* reviews and winning a Total Theatre Award. We managed a 4000 sq. ft. studio in King’s Cross, producing shows residencies & large-scale events. We've appeared on panels at the Roundhouse, Salt Festival & Somerset House. In 2018 Wellcome Collection and Unlimited co-commissioned our show “Delicate” with award-winning Diverse City for premiere in 2021.
