Before opening my own company in 2009, I worked for almost two decades as a graphic designer at a post production facility, designing stationery and business cards, advertisements, web sites, logos for print and broadcast, and even hand-making props for high-definition video productions. My special design skill is rebuilding logos in vector format. I have experience creating flat vector logos (appropriate for use in 3D software programs, for promotional products such as silkscreened or embroidered t-shirts, and for imprinted items such as mugs or pens). I can also create "dimensional" logos with gradients, bevels, highlights and shadows. Having experience in art is a definite plus when it comes to graphic design. I've learned to minimize page elements so the focal point doesn't get lost. I always strive to create a balanced composition with a sense of movement and color harmony. I am continually updating my artistic skills, experimenting with new media and substrates... this practice keeps my art fresh and ever-evolving. My favorite medium is oil, but I also enjoy oil pastel, acrylics, watercolor pencil and mixed media (compositions with cut paper, fabric, metal and paint). Every piece of artwork I create is made to last for generations, so I always use high-quality paints and substrates as well as acid-free papers.
