Center for Public Enterprise is an organization focused on broadening the public sector’s capacity to deliver economic development. We do so through our think tank by publishing original research and policy innovations, and by partnering directly with public agencies on designing and implementing development programs. Public enterprises serve Americans across many sectors of the economy—transit agencies, education districts, water systems, and airports are all examples—and with great benefit. Our goal is to grow the role for the public sector in the modern economy by helping to provide public institutions with the the tools to overcome economic constraints. CPE works with local, state and federal government agencies, as well as advocacy organizations, researchers, and academics to support successful design and implementation of public development programs.
