The Directors Guild of Canada, British Columbia District Council (DGC BC) represents the key creative and logistical personnel in the film and television industry in British Columbia. The DGC BC Collective Agreement covers the categories of Director, 2nd Unit Director, Production and Unit Manager, First, Second and Third Assistant Director, Additional Assistant Director - Background Coordinator, Location Manager, Assistant Location Manager, Location Scout and Production Assistant who also work as Trainees in the Location and Assistant Directing Departments. The DGC BC signs productions to secure work opportunities for its Members, representing their interests through the negotiation and administration of DGC BC Collective Agreement and engages in extensive industry advocacy and lobbying activities at the provincial and municipal levels.
