Diablo Ballet is an award-winning internationally recognized professional performing dance company committed to enriching, inspiring, enlightening, and educating children and adults through the art of dance. Diablo Ballet was founded in 1993 in order to address the absence of a professional ballet company in the region. The Company consists of dancers who have performed throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. Diablo Ballet has achieved artistic success capturing enthusiastic public response, critical acclaim, and international recognition. Known for world premieres and restaging of classic dance works, Diablo Ballet presents programs that range from contemporary to classical. Unlike most local dance companies, Diablo Ballet uses live music for its performance season. Diablo Ballet is also known for its acclaimed PEEK Youth Outreach Program. This one-of-a-kind program provides in-school arts education from Diablo Ballet dancers to thousands of elementary school students in under-served school districts in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties and young teens in Juvenile Hall. PEEK is endorsed by federal, state, and local policy-makers, including Assemblymember Susan Bonilla’s 2015 recognition of Diablo Ballet for “Successfully imparting to young people the incomparable experience of live performance, inspiring them to become actively involved in all that life has to offer.” In August 2019, Diablo Ballet opened the first Ballet School in Contra Costa County run by their professional ballet company. Diablo Ballet School is located in Walnut Creek. Festival Baltimore

1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, Maryland, 21250, US
Last Update: 2025-12-10

Festival Baltimore is a classical music festival based at University of Maryland, Baltimore County, featuring world-class performing artists and faculty. It's driving idea is to share the unique experience of hearing collections of works of the greatest classical composers of the past and present in their entirety. It is a rare opportunity to hear the complete works of a particular kind within one night performed by the same artist. Our festival provides a sequence of such nights with a wide range of styles and types of works, along with an opportunity for young aspiring students to work on and perform one of them. The 2019 Festival embraces collections of works by composers of four centuries. Each concert focuses on one specific genre - the piano, violin or viola sonata, the string or piano trio; or specific genre - black art song. Guests of the Festival Baltimore will experience an elucidating retrospective look through the specific genre in a heritage of a given composer. Don't miss a chance to embrace a musician's lifetime in one concert! Festival Baltimore is made possible with financial support and personal contribution of the members of the Music for Minds, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
